The new report, translated from Chinese, indicates that Apple will be adopting Japan Display’s so-called “Full Active” LCD technology. Unlike traditional LCDs, like those of the iPhone 8 and iPhone 8 Plus, Full Active LCDs only require ultra-slim 0.5mm bezels on all four sides, even smaller than those on the iPhone X.
Apple is reportedly thinking about the idea of launching a stylus compatible with iPhone, believed to be a new iteration of the Apple Pencil, which is currently only supported by the iPad Pro. The rumor comes from industry sources speaking to The Korea Herald, which claimed that Apple engineers “have recently been working” on a new iPhone device that “comes with a digital pen the iphone is rumoured to be called iPhone X Pro.
